Greetings, March 2014
Here is an update and a prayer request concerning the Hausa Christians from northern Nigeria which I mentioned in my last newsletter.
The four Hausa Christians from the northern state of Kaduna finally left for their home about 2 weeks ago. They came for business and had goods to take back with them on a semi trailer. They also were taking with them close to 5000 John/Romans booklets. They decided to leave some of their goods behind to make sure there was room for the booklets. They will be returning later for the goods they were not able to take with them this time. They had been eager to get back to witness for Christ and tell what God had done for them on their business trip. After getting back home, one had the priviledge to lead a brother to Christ in the market place. After receiving Christ, he had to call us right away to thank us for what his brother brought back from his trip….the Salvation message. They’ve been distributing the John/Romans to many in the village. Many have been coming to their houses in their village asking for the booklets. At one point, 30 came knocking for the gospel. These four have also been inviting the entire village to the revival meeting scheduled for next week. They are so overwhelmed with the joy of salvation that they are willing to do what it takes for others to also hear the same gospel they’ve heard. We sense a real revival coming to their village soon because they have turned their village “upside down” with the conversation of the gospel of Christ in their location. They call us everyday to thank us for sharing the gospel with them. It’s a blessing to see a burning desire in their heart to be soul winners.
We are planning to hold a whole day revival meeting for them in their village on April 25th 2014. They have been compelling us to come to preach to the whole village. There is no Independent Baptist Church in kaduna. The north has been plauged with violence for some time now and as a result, many are leaving the north for the south because of the lack of security in the country. But God has a remnant in the north reserved for his use to win souls and be a witness for him. And we want to be a blessing to them by helping them in preaching. We want to plant a church in their village and build a school for the many children who don’t have a school to go to. We will be in the Kaduna from April 24th-26th. I ask that you please pray for safety for our journey and the revival service that souls will be saved, and many spiritual eyes open to the truth. We will also be passing out Bibles in the Hausa language to those who get saved. We want to encourage them to grow in the Lord.
The Bible says Proverbs 21:31 …..safety is of the Lord. Also in Isaiah 26:2 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. And also proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.
We are not sure what God will do in their village when we get there, but we know we have to obey the Macedonian vision….”come over to Macedonia and help us” (Acts 16:9).
Please pray for us!
……….the Hausa Christians have returned back again to their village. They came to pick up their remaining goods they left behind. They visited us for about a week and left with 8,000 more John/Romans. In light of the tragic news of Al-Qaeda-inspired terror group Boko Haram detonating a car bomb at a bus stop during rush hour this past Monday killing 84 innocent people, these Christians are undeterred to spread the Gospel anyway. Please pray for their safety as well and for Nigeria!
For the sake of MORE souls,
